North Branford Summer Camp - Counselor-In-Training Program (CIT)

The Counselor-In-Training (CIT) Program gives 13–15-year-olds the opportunity to develop leadership skills in a camp environment. This program offers guidance, learning tools and a supportive environment to help CIT’s gain knowledge, experience, responsibility, and self-esteem.

Eligibility:
Must be between the ages of 13-15 by the designated start date.
Must be energetic, motivated and willing to work with young children.

Procedure:
There is an application process for this program to ensure individuals have the desire to participate, the understanding of safety protocols and the ability to be a positive role model.

Camp runs Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. beginning June 24th through August 16th. We recommend that CIT's attend daily.

Interested participants must complete and return an application.
*Please encourage applicants to complete this task for themselves.
In addition to the application, a brief interview will be scheduled for each applicant. A position is not guaranteed until confirmed by the Assistant Director. Once a CIT has been approved, they will be enrolled for 1 week at a time.

Lunch is included for CIT's, please notify the camp director upon arrival if getting lunch.
Typically, CIT's do not accompany campers on field trips, however exceptions may be made from time to time.

North Branford Parks & Recreation reserves the right to limit the number of applicants accepted into the program based on the needs of the camp. Additionally, obtaining a position as a CIT does not guarantee future employment with the department.

Limited availability. Weekly CIT fee: $75

Please fill out the application and return to the Parks and Recreation department or scan and email to khaynes@northbranfordct.gov
