Safe Boating/Personal Watercraft Class - Safe Boating/Personal Watercraft Class A complete, basic, safe boating certification course taught in three evenings. With successful completion of this basic safe boating class students will be able to obtain a Connecticut Certificate of Personal Watercraft Operation, enabling them to operate recreational vessels up to 65 feet in length, including Jet Skis. State-certified instructors go over topics such as: choosing the right boat, equipment requirements, state boating laws, safety regulations, navigation rules, buoy systems, trailering, safe fueling, weather, accident prevention, special topics and much more. This class can be taken by anyone 12 years or older. Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.All students must bring their Conservation Identification number to the class. Students who have a fishing or hunting license will find the Conservation ID number on their license. Students who do not have a fishing or hunting license can create a free Conservation ID number at https://ct.aspirafocus.com/internetsales.

Gentle Yoga - Gentle Yoga Join instructor Brianne Barrett for a gentle yoga class designed to softly open tight areas of the body while strengthening muscles and reinforcing balance. Breathing and relaxation techniques will be taught to assist in releasing stress and finding mental clarity. Much of this class is taught on the floor with very little transitioning between standing and sitting. The use of props serves to make the yoga poses more accessible to those attending the class. What's the difference between Independent Senior Living, Assisted Living, and Supportive Living? And what if I require Memory Care, or Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation? The goal of this presentation is to provide seniors with a comprehensive understanding of the various housing options available as they contemplate their future needs. Being aware of these options in advance will enable them to make well-informed decisions about their aging in place before the need becomes pressing. Crew is back for the 2023-24 school year!Our program is held at the Stanley T. Williams Community Center for grades K-5. Students will be walked over from TVES and bus transportation will be available from Jerome Harrison Elementary School.The program will be offered Mondays & Wednesdays until 5:30 p.m. and the half days on various Wednesdays will be accommodated. Senior Center Walking Club - Community Lake Linear Trail, Wallingford Walk this way to better health! This is a great way to meet new people, get a bit of exercise or just take a stroll. Let's get outside!Each member of the walking club will get a free pedometer courtesy of East Shore District Health Department! We will be travelling to some local parks where the paths are flat and paved and there are benches to take a rest. Some of the places we will be going to are: Chatfield Hollow in Killingworth, Coginchaug in Durham, Community Lake Linear Trail in Wallingford, and Quinnipiac River Gorge Linear Trail at Red Bridge in South Meriden.

Gentle Yoga - Gentle Yoga Join instructor Brianne Barrett for a gentle yoga class designed to softly open tight areas of the body while strengthening muscles and reinforcing balance. Breathing and relaxation techniques will be taught to assist in releasing stress and finding mental clarity. Much of this class is taught on the floor with very little transitioning between standing and sitting. The use of props serves to make the yoga poses more accessible to those attending the class.
