North Branford Senior Center Mission Statement

The North Branford Senior Center is committed to servicing the needs of our community’s individuals, age 55 years and older.  We strive to provide activities based on the interests and needs expressed by our seniors and to improve quality of life by providing activities and programs that enhance overall wellness.

Social, recreational, educational, physical and cultural activities are offered year round to enrich the lives of our seniors by helping maintain an active, independent and fulfilling life.  
 
We provide various activities and programs including

·        Transportation for town residents

Can I just stop by the Senior Center any time I want?  Yes, we ask that you sign in at the reception desk and register for programs. You can do this by going online to nbrecreation.com or by calling the office at (203) 484-6017. This is necessary for contact tracing in the event someone tests positive for COVID-19 and to keep track of the numbers of people in the building.  Each activity will have maximum attendance limits due to the size of the room and the activity.

Masks
:  Masks are optional when you enter the building and in the hallways. 


Hand Sanitizer/Hand Washing
Hand sanitizer will be available around the building.  In addition, please wash your hands, frequently and thoroughly, for a minimum of 20 seconds.


Entrance/Exit
The primary entrance is the main front door. The handicap entrance is available to enter, but you are still required to check in with the front desk.


Check-In
Upon arrival at the Senior Center, all visitors will be required to “check-in” with the front desk.  This is necessary for contact tracing should someone test positive for COVID-19, as well as keep track of the number of people in the building.

If you are experiencing any symptoms associated with COVID-19, please stay home. If a person shows up with or begins to experience COVID-19 symptoms while at the Senior Center, they will be asked to go home immediately. We will request a negative COVID test for return.

Classes: Classes such as Get Fit, Strongercise, Tai Chi, Crafts, Bingo etc. have resumed. New classes will be added soon, so be on the lookout. Participants will have to register for classes in advance.

DiLungo Fitness Center
:  The Fitness Center is open to members. 


Meals/Eating/Drinking
:  In-house meals are currently being offered. Please see the menu for details. Meal pick-up will continue for $4.00 per meal. We will not be able to offer coffee or tea.  There is one water station available in the senior room, please bring your own water bottle. Please help us to plan ahead, we encourage you to order your meals at the beginning of each week if possible.


Trips
To register, call the Senior Center or register online. Trips are available to all!


Transportation
Daily transportation is available. You must call and register for pickups. 

Medical Transportation: Transportation for medical visits are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays between 10:00 a.m. to  2:00 p.m. Please call to check availability for transportation and schedule your doctor visits during this time.
 

Membership is free! And open to Residents and Non-residents!
