Welcome to Week 1 of North Branford Parks & Recreation Summer R.E.C. Crew, June 22– June 26!
 
Be sure to send your child with plenty of water and have them dress comfortably and wear sneakers! We will have campers outside as much as possible but will move indoors if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
 
Drop off/ pick up
Drop off/pick-up will be at the side door facing the TVES driveway/Fire Department.
As a reminder, the camp day runs from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Please do your best to be on time and make sure whoever is picking up your child has a photo ID with them. If someone not listed on your pick-up authorization sheet is picking up your child, please call and let the office know or send a note with your child in the morning. No child will be released to someone without an ID and/or who is not listed without notice from the parent/guardian first.
 
What to pack every day for your child:

• Water bottle clearly labeled with the child’s name
• Change of clothes
• Peanut-free snack & lunch (if not getting lunch at camp)
• Towel
• Sneakers
• Sunscreen

What to leave at home:

• Cell phones & all electronic devices
• Gum
• Peanut products
• Toys
• Matches, lighters, knives, weapons of any kind, any illegal or inappropriate materials.

Cellphone/Electronics Policy
With more and more children using cell phones and other technologies at younger ages, we ask that you review our cell phone/electronics policy with your child and partner with us to ensure that every camper enjoys a safe and fulfilling camp experience.
Campers are strongly encouraged to leave cell phones and other electronic devices at home, such as smart watches, tablets, cameras and handheld gaming systems, as campers are not allowed to use these devices during the camp day. If you choose to allow your child to bring these items to camp, they must remain stored away. If these items are taken out during camp hours, they will be confiscated, and parents will be responsible for collecting them from the recreation office.
Cell phones and electronic devices pose many challenges at camp such as:

• Inappropriate and frequent use.
• Exposure to inappropriate content.
• Conflicts between campers.
• Lost/stolen/damaged devices.
• Distraction and disconnection from camp activities.

In addition, there is no secure place to store these items at camp. It can be very upsetting for campers to lose these items and often, they are expensive to replace. North Branford Parks & Recreation is not responsible for any broken or lost items. We encourage you to talk to your child about making good choices regarding the care and storage of their cell phones and other electronic devices.
 
Lunch
Lunch is not included with camp and costs $5.00 per day. Registration must be done by 9:00 am in order for your child to get lunch.

• Monday: Grilled Cheese & sides
• Tuesday: Ham & Cheese Sub
• Wednesday: French toast sticks, hashbrown & sides
• Thursday: Turkey & Cheese Sub
• Friday: Cheese party pizza

Special Activities & Classes for this week include:

• Monday: Fitness Fun with Jillian at 10:00
• Tuesday: Summer specials with Miss Trish at 10:00
• Wednesday: Movie trip to Legacy Theatre in Branford & Stoney Creek Museum at 9:00
• Thursday: Summer specials with Miss Trish at 10:00 & Yoga at 2:30
• Friday: Italian Ice Cart ($3.00) – nut free, gluten free, dairy free at 2:30 & Summer Reading with library staff at 3:30 pm
