Gentle Yoga - Gentle Yoga Join instructor Brianne Barrett for a gentle yoga class designed to softly open tight areas of the body while strengthening muscles and reinforcing balance. Breathing and relaxation techniques will be taught to assist in releasing stress and finding mental clarity. Much of this class is taught on the floor with very little transitioning between standing and sitting. The use of props serves to make the yoga poses more accessible to those attending the class. Students from TVES can be walked over by Parks & Recreation staff at dismissal. Students will have a snack time upon arrival and Ms. Claudia will begin her workshop by 3:30.She is a member of the National Science Teachers Association and the Connecticut Science Teachers Association. As an Educational Consultant, Claudia has worked with teachers and administrators in North Branford and New Haven- providing many workshops in science, writing, multicultural education, integrating literacy and more.Hands-on learning is Claudia’s passion. She instills the joy of learning to all students by integrating the areas of science, engineering, math, social studies, technology and language arts in a new and exciting way!

After School R.E.C. Crew - After School R.E.C. Crew (April) North Branford Parks & Recreation is thrilled to announce that the After School R.E.C. Crew is back for the 2023-24 school year!Our program is held at the Stanley T. Williams Community Center for grades K-5. Students will be walked over from TVES and bus transportation will be available from Jerome Harrison Elementary School.The program will be offered Mondays & Wednesdays until 5:30 p.m. and the half days on various Wednesdays will be accommodated. All questions can be directed to Kerry Haynes at khaynes@northbranfordct.govOur program provides a safe environment where kids can:
Receive homework support
Engage in recreational activities
Enhance social/emotional development
Most importantly HAVE FUN!

Tennis at Northford - Wednesdays- Intro to Tennis (11-13) Due to the overwhelming success of our Tennis Program last year we are excited to offer it again! This spring there is 6-week Introduction to Tennis program at Northford Park! Lessons will be offered with Guilford Racquet Club Pros once a week for 45 minutes and included age appropriate skills and drills! Lessons include a Racquet! Spring Lessons - Wednesdays 4:30-5:15pm Introduction to Tennis (Ages 11-14) 5:30-6:15pm Introduction to Tennis (Ages 5-10)If program is rained out a make-up class will be held on May 22nd

Pickleball - Adult Beginner Pickleball Instructor: Toby Neubig, PPA Certified InstructorHave you been hearing about pickleball and wondered what exactly people are talking about? Here's your chance to check out the fastest growing sport in the country! Learn the basics and get in on the fun! With elements of tennis, ping pong and badminton, this paddle and ball sport is played on a smaller sized tennis court. Pickleball is enjoyed all over the world by athletes of every age and ability level. Anyone can learn to play this game!Adult Pickleball 101We'll focus on fundamentals of pickleball including swing mechanics, court position, basic strategy and score keeping. By the end of this clinic, players will be ready to join in on the fun at their local courts!*NO EQUIPMENT NECESSARY!*Adult Pickleball 201We will put all the skills covered in Pickleball 101 into practice including swing mechanics, court position, basic strategy and score keeping. This 90 minute class will increase your confidence, knowledge and over pickleball skills!NO EQUIPMENT NECESSARY!*KIDS* Beginner Pickleball Pickleball is an inclusive sport that focuses on strategy and team building and can be enjoyed by people of all ages, making it perfect for children! We will practice swing mechanics, court position, basic strategy and score keeping. This 1 hour class is the perfect introduction to pickleball! *NO EQUIPMENT NECESSARY!*Adult Coached Play For experienced players who are currently playing the game, want to sharpen their skills and incorporate the strategies of more advanced play. Each week will begin with a drill and transition into coached play in game situations to cover mechanics, proper court position and shot selection. Let's add some new tools to your toolbox to help you to better enjoy the game and to play competitively against any type of player.

Senior Center Cardio Drumming! - Senior Cardio Drumming What is cardio drumming? It brings together drumsticks, an exercise ball, and an exercise ball stand to create one of the most fun workouts you'll ever do. Using the exercise ball and the floor as your drum, and mixing in fun moves, cardio drumming turns keeping a rhythm to music into a workout you won't want to stop.Cardio drumming can be done while standing or sitting in a chair. Join us for this fun activity!

Yoga to Release the Week - Yoga to Release the Week Appropriate for all ages and levels. A fluid (vinyasa) class taught with basic foundation poses, alignment and options for the beginner students, as well as, seasoned practitioners. This class will focus on releasing the stress of your busy week in both the mind and body leaving all students with more space to breathe, ease in their body and calm in their mind.
